IndiesReadIt Development Diary - Week 8
22/01 - 1h - Adding public stats
While working on PH launch I thought letting people see analytics would be a good trust indicator
I get inspired by David Gutiérrez tool 1000.tools
I asked which tool I should use for public analytics until I found out the one I was using (PostHog) already has this option.
The need for social attention (to grow) is sometimes counter-productive.
The page is simply an iframe I got from PostHog.
23-28/01 - 1h/day - Marketing week!
- I mostly did marketing this week, trying to increase visibility for IndiesReadIt upcoming launch
- I postponed a bit the launch on the advice of many influent members of #buildinpublic X community (David Gutiérrez especially)
- Despite this advice, I decided to launch before end of month to keep momentum and stick to my plan
- I focused on adding book from authors present on X to try to get some traction from them.
- It doesn’t really worked as my product is not recognized enough for now.
- I made a story to post on Reddit for advertising IRI, posted it to
- /indiehackers : 713 views / 85% upvote rate / 2 useful comments
- /SideProject : 1.9k views / 100% / 1 very good comment/feedback
- /Entrepreneur : 1.1k / 100% / 0 comments
- /InternetIsBeautiful : 13k / 100% / 0 comments
- I recommend these subreddits from the Marc Lou’s guide
- /indieshackers and /SideProject are the most useful to get feedback while /InternetIsBeautiful is the best for traffic
- DO NOT submit paying products ever. Or face the Reddit anger!
